Samuel Eto’o Marshalls Cameroon To WC On First Attempt

Well, the four-time African player of the year, Samuel Eto’o was used to doing it as a player, but he has now managed from the office to take Cameroon through to the FIFA World Cup.

Voted into office on December 11 ahead of Seidou Mbombo Njoya, Samuel Eto’o Fils had his hands full with events coming up thick and fast.

The EX Barca forward had to deal with the upcoming AFCON on home soil, which his country – Cameroon ended with bronze.

The next big aim for the 41-year-old and his office was to get the Indomitable Lions to a record extending 8th World Cup finals.

It was visible that Eto’o wanted it badly, as evidence, his presence in training sessions in Blida, Algeria, prior to the game.

Players carried Cameroon’s – record man around after the final whistle which sparked joyous scenes for the Lions in Blida.

It isn’t just about the manner in which Cameroon got to Qatar. The huddles were numerous. From injured players (Anguissa and Ngamaleu), to Onana being involved in an accident a day to the first leg in Douala.

All really came good for the ‘Blessed son’ as he; Samuel Eto’o is known. Many already verbally kicked out Cameroon given the change of coaching personnel. It now all seems a thing of the past.
