CAF Confed Cup: Pirates ‘Help’ Ittihad To Quarter Finals

Orlando Pirates are home, dry and through to the next round of CAF’s secondary club competition (CAF Confederations Cup) after ending their regular group campaign with a zero-all tie against Al Ittihad.

The result takes both teams through to the quarter finals, but Al Ittihad will lick their lips more, and seem the happier as Saoura was bearing down on them.

Playing at the Orlando stadium, the men of coach Mandla Ncikazi knew the hardest part of their work was done prior to final day, and came out enjoying themselves.

Same cannot be said for Al Ittihad who were sweating it out, keeping in mind that their second place was under threat from Saoura.

Saoura went on to win against Royal Leopards, but Al Ittihad played save and did the essential, as they held on to a zero all draw against the Pirates.

Saoura miss out on the quarter finals with 10 points, one behind Ittihad (11). Pirates are top with 13 points, while Royal Leopards end rock bottom with no point recorded.
