Lamkel Ze Eyeing The World Cup

Qualified for the 2022 World Cup, the Cameroon’s national team is likely to experience a lot of changes between now and the start of her World Cup campaign in November.

Between the dual nationals and the players from all over who are trying to slip into the group that will defend the Green-Red-Yellow in Qatar, places are set to be hard fought for.

Didier Lamkel Ze is no exception. The new FC Metz recruit has made a strong impression since his arrival in France, notably with his first goal scored last weekend against Bordeaux. The goal was however insufficient to ensure victory for his team.

Quizzed by colleagues from Parlons Foot 237, the Cameroonian striker hasn’t twisted the truth about his desire to return to the national selection

“Any football player wants to play for his country and that is clear. Cameroon is a great football nation and with several players, the coach is free to make the choices he wants but for the moment I am focused on my club as we try to achieve our objectives.”

It remains to be seen whether his reputation will work Against him.

Ze is noted for the ‘bad boy’ kind of attitude, a reason why he has been a sort of journey man, constantly going on loan from parent club – Royal Antwerp.
