Elite One: Frank Beken’s Stunner Wins It For Fovu Against Dragon

Fovu Club of Baham won in their second outing of the MTN Elite One courtesy Beken’s wonderful strike at the 74th minute of play against Dragon FC.

Fovu Club had taken the lead and rightly so, when Ibrahim Mouchili savored his second of the campaign at the 23rd minute.

Dragon had loads of chances at the other end, but Sigfried Essale and co seemingly caught stage fright when presented with opportunities in Patrick Hamadjam’s area.

It ended in the first half 1-0 in favour of Fovu, who kept living dangerously. Dragon came back in the second half and continued incursion in the Fovu half – which eventually paid off.

Giovanie Nouma stepped up to send Hamadjam the wrong way after referee Chechou Amadou had handed Dragon a 64th minute penalty.

9 minutes after, Beken Franck won it with a sweet solo effort, catching goalkeeper Gerard Olinga off guard to win the game for Fovu, on match day 2 in group B.
