Elite One: PWD Part Ways With Coach Nkabyo 24 Hours After UMS Defeat
2021 Cameroon cup winners, PWD of Bamenda have parted ways with gaffer, Martin Nkabyo just hours after the team’s 1-0 defeat to UMS.
PWD gulped down an aching defeat to UMS of Loum on match day three of the Championship, after substitute, Victor Sother Mengue netted with 90 seconds to the end.
Club president, Pascal Abunde took to his tweeter handle to break the news this Sunday, October 30.
‘After going through a careful thought process we have decided to end our working relationship with the head coach Nkabyo Martin. Coach thank you for the services rendered to our club,’ president Abunde ended.
It hasn’t been an easy ride for big money spenders PWD, who haven’t settled since being ousted of the CAF Confederations Cup by Elgeco plus of Madagascar.
The team’s first game in group A of the Championship, saw them defeated against Colombe FC by a 2-0 margin. The defeat happens to be the reason for an immediate end of working affiliations between coach Nkabyo and PWD.
Coach Nkabyo Martin, a real tactician perhaps couldn’t get the time he desired to work out his dream team at PWD.
The gaffer resigned from his duty as head coach of YOSA last season, though under different circumstances.
Up next for PWD are games against Stade Renard, Aigle, Avion and Djiko, just before the World Cup break. The club is yet to issue a statement on who takes over the new role as head coach.
