Qatar 2022: Aliou Cisse’ To Do Without Keita Balde

Failing to appeal after being sanctioned for an anti-doping rule violation, Senegalese international Keita Baldé will have to miss the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

Indeed, when he had just played his very first match under the colors of Spartak Moscow, the African Champion was already denied the right to play further.

The 27-year-old striker was suspended by Italy’s National Anti-Doping Tribunal until December 5 for “doping control violations”, while still playing in Serie A, in Cagliari.

Having not appealed, the former AS Monaco star will therefore have to miss the World Cup in Qatar. However, his agent says the Senegalese is in great shape and training well individually.

“Baldé is in great shape, he is training individually and can’t wait to get back on the pitch. I’m sure he will be fully ready at the right time. Keita follows the matches of the team (of Spartak) and is delighted with their performances,” said Federico Pastorello, to Russian site RB Sport.
