Qatar 2022: Impressive Tunisia Gets ‘First African’ Point Against The Danes

Despite a shower of chances on both sides, Denmark and Tunisia separated goalless before France-Australia on Tuesday evening.

The game wasn’t short of attacking intent with 23 shots, 6 on target but no goals on either side.

Tunisia however did more damage with counterattacks in  first period, despite an unfavorable ball possession rate of 38%.

After half-time, the Danes were able to regain the upper hand.

At the end of the match,  Andreas Cornelius had the most clear cut chance but couldn’t get enough contact  with the ball to direct it goalwards a t the 70th minute.

Jelel Kadri and his men defended with their hearts out in the last 10 minutes plus added on time.  Denmark, semi-finalist of the Euro last year, pushed without having that extra bit of success. Up next for  Christian Eriksen and co is a game against France on Saturday (5 p.m.).

The Blues can take the lead in Group D provided they succeed in their entry into the matter this Tuesday evening (8 p.m.) against Australia.
