December Tournament 2022 : Teams From Congo, Equatorial Guinea Garnish Opener

The December Tournament Kick-started Sunday Dec. 11, and it will run until Friday, Dec. 16.

Three categories are well in place: U14, U16s and the U18s with two expatriate academies garnishing the tourney.

Pointe Noir from Congo and Academy Bata are the two invited academies for this year’s event.

Placed in group D of the U18 category alongside NQSA, Aras and ISOHSA, Pointe Noir dropped to bottom of the group after a 2-0 loss to Limbe based NQSA on day 1.

Match day 1 was however a success for Equatorial Guinea based outfit, ACAD Bata. With 10 men, they picked up a 1-0 victory over Best Stars Academy.

Often referred to as the champions league of youth football, the December tournament has produced stars across the continent and, it remains a reservoir for scouts.

Games will be played till Friday when the tournament hits exclamation point with finals of all categories .

Venues of matches in Limbe are the: Centenary, Middle Farms, Omnisport and Omnisport annex stadiums.
