Pre-CHAN Friendlies: Intermediate Lions Draw One-All Against Cote D’Ivoire

Two days after a one all draw against Uganda, the intermediate Lions of Cameroon kept the same result on Saturday against Côte d’Ivoire, having taken the lead.

As the game against Uganda on January 5, the intermediate Lions led but were perked back by their counterparts from Côte d’Ivoire in a pre Chan friendly match in Tunisia.

The men of Alioum Saidou dominated the game. Cameroon came very close to opening the scoring through Harrison Djonkep well served by Jérôme Ngom at the 33rd minute. Back from the break, the Cameroon continued ball control of the and imposed their rhythm on the Elephants. Once again, Junior Kemajou and his partners had the opportunity to open scores. On a ball from Guy Eyike, Ramses Donfack headed just wide off target at the 67th minute.

Three minutes later, Cameroon drew a penalty awarded for a handball. Beo Bato scored for 1-0 at the 70th minute. But as against Uganda, the intermediate Lions lacked concentration and the Elephants took the opportunity to equalize on a set piece (1-1, 87th). Cameroon will play a last test game on January 9, against Sudan.
