CAF CC: ASEC Beat Diable Noir To Record Successive Victories In Group B

ASEC Mimosas ran out 1-0 winners against Diable Noir in the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup. The side from Cote D’Ivoire had won 2-0 in he reversed fixture and completed the double on Wednesday which took them provisionally at the top of group B at the end of game day 4, in group B.

ASEC Mimosas could not have hoped for a better scenario for this double confrontation against the Diable Noirs.

After a 0-0 score in the first half, Julien Chevalier’s men took matters in their hands in the second period. Just before the hour mark, Aubin Kramo opened the scoring in the 59th minute, on an assist from Anicet Oura. The locals pushed to equalise but ASEC Mimosas resisted and won at the final whistle.

Thanks to this second consecutive victory, the Ivorian club temporarily moves to the top of group B with 7 points. Nigeria’s Rivers United follow with 6 points. The group’s other meeting, between Rivers United and DC Motema Pembe, has been postponed. In case of victory, the Nigerian club will take the lead.
