AFCON 2021: Holders Algeria, To Face Ghana And Gambia In Friendlies

The preparation plan for the AFCON 2021 has, and is taking shape, for Algeria’s national team as they are set to face off against Gambia and Ghana in a friendly.

This comes after Algeria triumphed at the FIFA Arab Cup just some days back against Tunisia, via a 2-0 victory.

FAF has scheduled two friendly matches for the Desert Foxes against the African selections of Gambia and Ghana. Gambia, 151st in the FIFA rankings, whist Ghana are ranked 52nd in the FIFA Coca Cola classification.

The Blacks stars are also one of the roaring favorites during this AFCON edition.

These matches will allow Djamel Belmadi’s team to prepare even better for the start of the competition.

The AFCON is scheduled in Cameroon between January 9 and February 6. After ensuring qualification for the World Cup play-off, Mahrez’ teammates return to the prestigious continental competition within a month. They won the title in 2019 against Senegal.
