CAF CL: Amine Farhane’s Header Makes Sure Of Wydad’s Presence In Final

Wydad Casablanca has qualified for a final of the African Champions League which will be played in their backyard on May 30, 2022, against the winner of Al Ahly (Egypt)-ES Sétif (Algeria). In the second leg, the Moroccan club was held to a 1-1 draw by Petro Atletico but won 3-1 in in the first leg, thus, an aggregate score of (4-2).

Wydad Casablanca escaped an early scare to book a place in the CAF champions league final – for a 5th time in their history.

The Casablanca — based club validated its ticket for the final at the expense of the Petro Atletico, after parity at the Mohammed Athlete V Complex in Casablanca. Oualid Regragui’s men however had a difficult time finishing the job at home.

The visitors looked dangerous on several occasions, and opened the scoring in the 21st minute. WAC’s equalizer, scored by Amine Farhane with a header after a well-taken corner, put Petro on the guillotine.

Next up in the semis is the game pitting Entente de Sétif against Al Ahly on Saturday.

The latter have almost guaranteed a place in the final after their great victory at home in the first leg (4-0), as they aspire to win their third consecutive title.
