CAF Confed. Cup: Mazembe Start Campaign With 3-1 Win Over Bamako

Tout Puissant Mazembe (TP Mazembe) of Lubumbashi started the group stage of the CAF Confederations cup on Sunday, February 12, with a victory against Real Bamako of Mali.

Pamphile Mihayo Kazembe’s pals had the ball beyond Malian goalkeeper Berthe three times in their 3-1 win.

The first goal came from Jephté Kitambala, from an acrobatic effort in a tight angle, at the 25 minute.

6 minutes later, it’s Bamako equalised. Cameroonian goalkeeper Narcisse Nlend, returned the ball badly to his opponents and it was received by Ousmane Kamissoko on the “D” as he found Moussa Coulibaly for one-all.

Before the end of the first period, it is the new recruit of the Ravens, Zambian international Alex Ngonga who increased the score to 2-1.

Upon resumption in the second period, young Mazembe academy graduate, Patient Mwamba scored the game’s third.

Tout Puissant Mazembe therefore began their CAF Confederations cup race in group D with three points taken at home before its next outing.
