CAF Women’s CL: FAR, Sundowns Make Semis In Group B

FAR Rabat and Mamelodi Sundowns filled the remaining two slots of the semis in group B of the CAF Women’s Champions League, after their zero – all tie.

AS FAR came to the game having picked 3 points on match day one, before getting stunned by Vihiga Queens on match day 2.

The dead rubber (0-0) meant AS FAR climbed as second and Mamelodi Sundowns topped group B.

Stakes in the second match was much more lower. Rivers Angels knowing they needed a handsome goal margin and rely on Sundowns to get a win over AS FAR, went for the kill.

Two penalties converted by Vivian Ikechuckwu at the 67th and 76th minute, sent Rivers two up against a deflated Vihiga Queens side.

Two other goals in quick succession from Damilola Koku (80) and Monday Gift (83), completed a four nil mauling for the Nigerian representatives.

For the semis, Hasaacas will face AS FAR, while Mamelodi Sundowns will go up against Malabo Kings on November 15th.
