Dynamo Douala Stages Thrilling Comeback Victory Against AS Fortuna

In a pulsating encounter that showcased the unpredictable drama of the Elite One championship, Dynamo Douala produced a stunning second-half turnaround to defeat AS Fortuna 4-2.

The match was defined not only by its six-goal tally but by significant personal milestones, most notably the high-profile return of one of the league’s most feared strikers and a breakthrough moment for a new arrival.

The contest began with AS Fortuna asserting their dominance, as former Léopard Douala man, Solomon Nsoh found the back of the net in the 28th minute to give his side a deserved lead.

Just as it seemed Fortuna would head into the break with the advantage, Cédric Minlo struck for Dynamo in the second minute of first-half stoppage time. His 45+2 minute equalizer shifted the momentum heading into the interval, setting the stage for an explosive second act.

The hour mark brought fresh tension when Guilit Kevin clinical finish restored AS Fortuna’s lead, making it 2-1 and leaving Dynamo with a mountain to climb. However, the comeback was ignited by a familiar face in a new shirt for the men of Nsoh Simplis. Jules Armand Kooh, the Indomitable Lions forward and  top goalscorer from the 2023-2024 campaign, marked his return to domestic football in spectacular fashion. After a move to the Tunisian top-tier side Club Africain failed to materialize as planned and resulted in a mutual termination of his contract, Kooh returned to Cameroon to revamp his career. Captaining Dynamo Douala on his debut, he netted the crucial 2-2 equalizer, proving to the fans that his eye for goal remains as sharp as ever.

With the scores level and the momentum firmly in Dynamo’s favor, the closing stages belonged to the visitors. In the 80th minute, Arrey Jefter scored his first goal for the club since leaving Isohsa to join Dynamo, a strike that put his side ahead for the first time in the match.

As Fortuna pushed forward in a desperate attempt to salvage a point, they were caught out in second-half added time. Samuel Yann provided the final blow, making it 4-2 to end the contest and secure a statement victory for Dynamo Douala. This result serves as a warning to the rest of the league, as Dynamo’s new-look attack, spearheaded by a rejuvenated Kooh, looks ready to dominate the season.
