FECAFOOT Exposes “age cheat” Nathan Douala

Nathan Douala will not take part in the MTN Elite One playoffs championship, unless there’s an appeal ruled in the players’ favor between now and Sunday, March 17.

The Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT) unveiled a list of 62 players ineligible to play in the second part of the championship due to irregularities in identification and ages.

The body declared Wilfried Doualla, one of the stars of the Indomitable Lions during the AFCON in Cote D’Ivoire, as one of 62 players excluded from the championship, as a result of double identity.

Another team set to battle for the title (YOSA), having lost 6 players to suspension in the regular season in group B, will further miss out on 7 others, making it 13 players to lose in the team’s roster in total, the most of any Elite club taking part in the championship

Wilfried Nathan, number 10 on the list, accused of age cheating and falsification, thus not cleared by FECAFOOT to take part in the championship playoffs in the above document

Victoria United comes second with 7 players ruled out of the “playoffs up”, with the biggest name of them all, being Wilfried Nathan.

Victoria United’s Top scorer, Richmond Nji – who has netted 12 times this season, is sidelined too on the chart.

That leaves Victoria United with two of their most prized assets – out of the equation, and basically out of the title race.

UMS and Colombe have 5 players on the list for age fraud and double identities, while Union and Fovu have 3 players each, closely following Gazelle and Dynamo with four players apiece.

Cotonsport, Canon, Aigle and Stade Renard do not have any players with age fraud or double identity on the books of FECAFOOT, ahead of the playoffs.

The championship Playoffs “up and down” will commence on March 17. It will be played across four different cities: Douala, Yaounde, Bafoussam and Bafang.
