Exclusive: Moursou, Kokolo to return against Hilal, Allambatnam & Houzafi excused

Former Cameroonian Under-17 international Jean Eric Moursou will make his return to the Cotonsport squad against Sudanese giants Al Hilal Oumdurman on Friday, sportglitz.com can confirm.

It will be the teenage sensation’s first TotalEnergies CAF champions league game if he is fielded, after actively taking part in Cotonsport’s run to the semi in the Confed. Cup in the 2020/2021 season.

Cotonsport’s co-coaches – Gabriel Haman, Agbor Ernest and Francois Ngoumou will equally be welcoming Congolese midfeilder Ulrich Kokolo who was sidelined for over a fortnight ago due to injury.

Meanwhile, Moustapha Djidjiwa, Allambatnam and Youssoufa Houzafi have made way from the list.

Forward Moustapha Djidjiwa injured his thigh before the Sundowns game last Friday, and he was heavily stripped before being fielded, a risk Cotonsport’s back room staff would not want to take.

For Gabin Allambatnam, he has been rested after a performance considered below par in the Sundowns game, same with Youssoufa Houzafi who passed the team into trouble, leading to Sundowns’ one of three goals last Friday.

The 17-time Elite One winners will therefore rely on Ahmada Saliou and Jean Daniel Nyeck to guard goal.

On Friday, For Cotonsport will be their second game having played a game less due to the postponment of match day one, courtesy of Ahly’s involvement in the Club world cup.

Cotonsport lost 3-1 in their opener against South African giants Mamelodi Sundowns, and the game against Hilal is a chance for redemption.
