FDF bids farewell to coach Ashu Cyprian, as he returns home for top Job

After having rendered good  services to the Djiboutian football federation, coach Cyprian Besong Ashu will leave the country this Wednesday evening and return to his native country, Cameroon, having been appointed assistant coach of the Indomitable Lions.

For a year he was the head coach of the U15 and U23 national selections of Djibouti.

The mission entrusted to Ashu Besong by the FDF was to develop youth football. The interim president of the FDF, Mohamed Yacin this morning during the ceremony, paid tribute to Ashu for the work he has done within the federation.


The latter was coach of the Cameroon’s U20 Lions in 2017 and has since then, perfected the art of talent development across the continent.

Before his arrival In Djibouti, Cyprian Besong Ashu was head coach of the South Sudan national team 2018, where he contributed massively to the growth of football.

Ashu has also formerly coached at Welwyn Garden City and later served as U21 assistant coach at Leicester City.

Coach Ashu will join head coach Marc Brys in Cameroon as preparations enter another gear ahead of the June World Cup qualifiers.
