Official: Kaba Diawara Fired As Guinea Coach

After being rumored for a short spell, it is now official that Kaba Diawara, his staff as well as that of the other national selections of Guinea, have been relieved from their duties by the Normalization Committee of the Guinea Football Federation

Kaba is on record to have said the ‘ball is in the court of the authorities,’ having been quizzed on whether he thought he could continue or not, in February. Well, after an exit at the AFCON R16, it was considered not good enough.

It is not just about the senior selections. The federation has dissolved staffs of other selections with the exception of that of the U17 women’s team that participates in the second round of the WC playoffs for India 2022.

“As part of the reforms undertaken for the management of national teams, the federation decides to dissolve all the technical staff of national selections of all categories”, a statement from Feguifoot reads.

“A call for applications will be launched in the coming days for the recruitment of the coach of the national men’s team”, it ended.
