Pascal Siakam pre-selected as Cameroon sets sight on Paris 2024 Olympic games
Excitement is building as the Cameroon National Men’s basketball team prepare for the Olympic Qualifying Tournament ahead of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
Among the players shortlisted to represent Cameroon is Pascal Siakam, of the Indiana Pacers.
National coach, Alfred Aboya and his staff announced a list of 26 players, including Siakam, a well-known name, who has just helped his team through to the NBA Eastern Conference semi finals.
This preselection includes players playing in professional leagues around the world, as well as promising talents from American basketball collages.

In the coming weeks, a list of the 16 Players who will take part in the Preparatory Course billed for Riga, Latvia, from June 15 to 30, 2024 will be communicated.
During this period, Cameroon will play 2 Friendly Matches (against Egypt on June 24 and Georgia on June 26). The Cameroon National Team will train at the Rimi Olympic Center and Arena Riga. Cameroon will stay at the AC Hotel Marriott in Riga.
At the end of this Preparatory Course, the list of 12 Players selected for the qualifiers will be revealed.
As a reminder, the Olympic qualifiers will be held in Riga from July 2 to 7. Cameroon will play its Pool B matches against Montenegro on July 3, and Brazil on July 4.
The first 2 of the Pool will make the Semi-Final, and only the Winner of the TQO will qualify for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games (from July 26 to August 11).
