Tournoi International Football Jeune: LESA’s Nkede Nelvin Ngole stars in defeat to TAD
Midfielder Nkede Nelvin Ngole had an outstanding performance despite his team’s debut defeat in the Tournoi International Football Jeune against TAD sports.
Last season’s finalists of the Tournois International Football Jeune, Lionheart soccer Academy (LESA) paid for their slow start as they gulped down a 2-1 defeat in the hands of TAD Sports Academy.
Two early goals from winger Teppono Douala sealed matters in the first stanza.
In the fourth minute, Teppono lunched into space and eventually beat goalkeeper Emmanuel Obase on his near post.
Lightening struck twice just 10 minutes later. Teppono had the ball in the same scenario. He left Mandande Pablo for dead before slotting past a helpless goalkeeper Obase for 2-0.
LESA shoke off the early game nap thereafter. Last season’s co-top scorer, Mvondo Bite came into this year’s edition with huge expectations but couldn’t slot in his first chance at the 15th minute, after some good work by Nelly Sona down the left.
LESA grabbed possession of the midfield and captain Ngolle began to dictate the pace of the game, alongside the ever-combative Mulema Ebai.
A penalty changed the game’s complexion. It was from a through-ball by Nkede that set Charles free on the wings, then the forward’s attempted cross met the trailing hand of defender, Salam Abdoul.
Nkede took responsibility from the spot and sent the goalkeeper the wrong way to half deficit on minute 20.
LESA had more chances created in the second half, one of which fell to Mvondo Bite, one-v-one against goalkeeper Kack Michael, but he could only shoot off target.
TAD took home first 3 points in group C but LESA stares at a chance of redemption on Monday December 16, when they face TDHA.
