Antoine Semenyo wins Player and Goal of the month awards
Antoine Semenyo has been named AFC Bournemouth’s Michael Matthews Jewellers Player of the Month for August, as well as he was gifted the best goal of the month following a blistering start to the Premier League season.
Semenyo’s performances in August were crucial in helping Andoni Iraola’s men to a bright start to the 2025/26 season.
The Ghana international opened the campaign with a dramatic brace at Anfield in a 4-2 loss to Liverpool, with one of the goals an incredible solo run which was named Strategic Solutions AFC Bournemouth Goal of the Month award for August.
In the next match, he provided a key assist in the narrow 1-0 home win over Wolves, helping set up the decisive goal from Marcus Tavernier early on.
The 25-year-old then played an essential role in the victory away at Tottenham Hotspur, contributing tirelessly and showing his usual attacking threat, despite not getting on the scoresheet.
These performances have been recognised by supporters voting on the AFC Bournemouth app. Semenyo is the first recipient of the Player of the Month award for the 2025/26 season, a recognition well deserved after a superb month.
