Chasing Greatness: Fogno Jordan Ready to Storm Lagos and Claim Africa’s Middleweight Crown

The story was meant to be written long ago, but fate had other plans. Now, as he prepares for his highly anticipated Professional Fighters League (PFL) Africa debut, Cameroonian middleweight sensation Fogno Jordan is ready to complete a chapter that has remained unfinished.
The setting is Lagos, Nigeria a city renowned for its passionate combat sports fans and electric atmosphere. The stakes could hardly be higher. Standing across from Jordan will be undefeated Nigerian contender Yahuza, with both men seeking to establish themselves as Africa’s premier middleweight fighter.
For Jordan, this is far more than just another fight. It is a long-awaited opportunity to prove himself on the continent’s biggest stage.
Unfinished Business
The excitement surrounding the contest is rooted in a rivalry that almost happened years ago.
Both Jordan and Yahuza rose through the ranks of the African Knockout (AKO) promotion and were once scheduled to meet for the organisation’s middleweight title. The bout was expected to determine the division’s undisputed king, but circumstances prevented the fight from taking place.
Now, PFL Africa has revived the matchup, giving fans the blockbuster showdown they have long awaited.
Jordan acknowledges the challenge ahead. Yahuza remains unbeaten and possesses greater professional experience, but the Cameroonian believes the time has come for a new generation to take centre stage.
“Yahuza is undefeated and has been on the professional circuit longer than me, so I respect his journey,” Jordan said. “But I’m coming into this fight with a lot of ambition and momentum.”

That momentum has been impossible to ignore.
Jordan enjoyed a breakthrough 2025 campaign, rapidly climbing the ranks with a series of impressive performances. His most notable victory came against Chad Hanekom, a respected veteran with 12 professional wins and experience on Dana White’s Contender Series.
“I represent the new generation,” Jordan said. “Fighters who move forward, take risks and embrace challenges without fear.”
Building a Championship Camp
For the biggest fight of his career, Jordan has assembled an elite training environment spanning Cameroon’s two largest cities.
His preparations are centred at Fitness Club in Yaoundé under the guidance of longtime coach Lionel Ngono. In African MMA circles, Ngono is a respected figure whose pedigree extends beyond Cameroon. He is the younger brother of Fernand Lopez, founder of the renowned MMA Factory in Paris and coach of former UFC interim heavyweight champion Ciryl Gane.
The connection provides Jordan with access to a wealth of technical expertise and high-level fight preparation.
To further sharpen his skills, he has also incorporated sessions at Energy MMA in Douala, allowing him to benefit from a wider pool of training partners and coaching perspectives.
“This allows me to diversify my training and continue improving every aspect of my game,” Jordan explained. “I’m surrounded by people who believe in me and push me to become better every day.”
Ready to Silence Lagos
Competing in front of a hostile crowd can be daunting for many fighters, but Jordan embraces the challenge.
He understands that the majority of fans inside the arena will be backing their hometown favourite. Rather than viewing that as a disadvantage, he sees it as extra motivation.
“I know I’ll be the challenger,” Jordan admitted. “But honestly, I think that atmosphere is a good thing. The energy, the pressure and the expectations surrounding a fight like this are what make moments like these special.”
When the cage door closes in Lagos, Jordan has no intention of merely surviving the occasion. He plans to thrive in it.
“As always, I’ll stay composed, enjoy the moment and showcase my talent,” he said. “I’m coming to silence the crowd.”
Should he succeed, Fogno Jordan will not only secure the biggest victory of his career he will take a giant step toward establishing himself as the undisputed face of African middleweight MMA.
