Four Cameroonian fighters ready to fly the flag at PFL Africa Lagos

Cameroon’s growing presence in African mixed martial arts will once again be on full display when the Professional Fighters League heads to Lagos next month, with four Cameroonian fighters confirmed on the card for PFL Africa’s first-round event on June 13, 2026.

Set for the Eko Convention Centre in Nigeria’s commercial capital, the event will bring together some of the continent’s most promising MMA talents in bantamweight and lightweight tournament clashes, as well as a series of showcase bouts designed to spotlight Africa’s next generation of stars.

For Cameroonian fans, the attention will firmly be on Octave “The Bantu Warrior” Ayinda, Alain “The African Assassin” Majorique, Styve “The Revolution” Ngono, and Jordan Fongno—four fighters carrying the hopes of a country steadily carving a name for itself in African combat sports.

Ayinda arguably enters Lagos with the biggest expectations.

The lightweight contender faces Nigeria’s Patrick “Star Boi” Ocheme in one of the night’s headline bouts, a high-stakes tournament opener with major implications for the road to PFL Africa lightweight gold. Ayinda, who reached the semifinals in 2025, has built a reputation for his aggressive fighting style and finishing ability, making him one of the most dangerous names in the division.

Standing across from him will be a home favourite in Ocheme, who will enjoy the backing of the Lagos crowd as he looks to launch his own title charge.

Another Cameroonian expected to draw significant attention is bantamweight standout Alain Majorique. The 2025 PFL Africa finalist returns looking to take another step toward continental glory when he squares off against Dwight Joseph in a first-round tournament bout.

Majorique’s rise over the last year has elevated him among the elite names in African MMA, with his explosive striking and composure inside the SmartCage making him one of Cameroon’s most recognizable fighters on the regional scene.

Away from the tournament brackets, two more Cameroonians will have the opportunity to make statements in showcase contests.

Jordan Fongno is set for a heated middleweight clash against Nigeria’s unbeaten Yahaya “Smile Strong” Yahuza. The matchup has already generated buzz among regional MMA followers due to the fighters’ previous rivalry outside the PFL cage, adding extra intrigue to an already competitive card.

Meanwhile, light heavyweight Styve Ngono will face Richard Muzaan in another showcase bout. Ngono enters the contest with a strong 7-1 professional record and continues to emerge as one of Cameroon’s fast-rising MMA prospects.

The June 13 event represents another important moment for Cameroonian MMA, which continues to gain recognition across the continent thanks to a new generation of fighters competing on major international platforms.

While Nigerian fighters dominate the Lagos card numerically, Cameroon’s quartet arrives with genuine ambitions of stealing the spotlight — and possibly moving one step closer to championship success.

The event will be headlined by a featherweight showcase between Nigerian star Wasi “The Nigerian Jaguar” Adeshina and Spain’s Ignacio “Nacho” Campos.

Other notable bouts include unbeaten Algerian Karim Henniene facing South Africa’s Thimna Mhlauli in the bantamweight tournament, while Nigeria’s Cornel Thompson meets Congolese fighter Tsilomba Mikixi in a lightweight first-round clash.

PFL Africa Lagos will be broadcast across the continent on SuperSport and Canal+, with fans expected to pack the Eko Convention Centre for what promises to be one of the biggest MMA events on African soil this year.
