Burkina Faso Hammer Guinea 7-0 To Make AWCON Debut

Burkina Faso have snatched a historic qualification for the next Women’s African Cup of Nations (AWCON 2022).

The competition starts on July 2, 2022 in Morocco and will see the participation of a Burkinabe team for the first time.

In the return leg of the last round of the playoffs, the Stallions won against the Djurtus of Guinea-Bissau (1-0), at the Charles De Gaulle stadium in Porto-Novo.

That, after their big victory in the first leg (0-6). Absent from the 13 previous editions of the women’s AWCON, Burkina Faso will be present at that of 2022 in Morocco. This is the very first participation of Burkinabe team in the competition.
