Sportglitz.com sources confirmed on Thursday that the State Qatar has started the process of dismantling the 974 football stadium, which was built with containers.

Al-Watan newspaper adds that Qatar decided to re-use the containers and exploit the space to benefit local residents.

It should be noted that the Goverment of Tunisia had submitted an official request after the Arab Cup competition through the Minister of Youth and Sports for the transfer of this stadium to Tunisia.

Stadium 974 hosted 7 matches at this year’s FIFA World Cup, including Brazil’s round of 16 game against South Korea.

The stadium was initially announced under the name Ras Abu Aboud Stadium. During a launch event on 20 November 2021, the venue was officially renamed Stadium 974.

The fine piece of art hosted its first match on 30 November 2021 on the opening day of the 2021 FIFA Arab Cup, between the United Arab Emirates and Syria. The stadium hosted six matches during the tournament.
